Sometimes characters show up and I want to get to know them better. That was the case for this turkey, who was originally a collage on a card. I started drawing him doing different things, in different scenes. He seemed to want a friend, and so appeared a little French worm named Pierre. I've been somewhat undecided on my turkey's name. My daughter has insisted that it's Rushmore, and I do like that. Rushmore seems particularly affected by the weather--much like me. Also, my favorite drawings happen on scraps of paper--envelopes, notes for other projects....anywhere but my sketchbook!
