Summer usually finds me a little foggy and scattered. The last half of July and first week of August found me particularly in that state. I spent much of July under the lingering exhaustion and congestion of covid. And it's been so hot this year with multiple days in a row in the 90s. Baking and working with butter doughs in the heat is not fun, and I felt like all of that took a toll on me. There have been lots of glorious moments nevertheless. Lots of ideas are brewing, lots of pickles have been made, and lots of popsicles have been eaten. Sometimes, that's all you can ask for.
