I was fascinated with food and the inner workings of the kitchen at an early age. At the age of seven, I received Betty Crocker's New International Cookbook as a present and started experimenting with complicated recipes like making calzones from scratch. Now, I have been baking professionally for over ten years.
I have magical memories of making my own books about sea creatures when I was very young, using shiny wrapping paper and crayons to add color. I loved making dioramas for school projects. One favorite scene was about the Iditarod, where I made igloos out of sugar cubes and racers out of peanuts.
Paper Cake Scissors is the intersection of my loves of baking, creating, and making with paper. I am strongly influenced by the produce and landscape of my home in rural Vermont.
