There are those words that just stick with you. They sound good, feel good, and seem to mean something broader than a dictionary definition. Bespoke has been following me around for the last week. It's an old-fashioned word referring to tailor-made clothing, especially men's apparel. Recently, I've seen bespoke used to describe scents, teas, and truffles. I love the idea of a scent created specifically for a person, a smell created based on a person's likes and temperament that is her signature on the wind. And even a tea, blended or selected and infused with fragrance (in the case of Aftelier) with a person's mood and personality in mind, creating a scenario of contemplation. I love the idea of someone trying to get to know you well enough to create a custom scent or confection that is like your fingerprint.
