Happy Thanksgiving

This is what Thanksgiving in Vermont looks like---stick season, some call it. Although it looks bleak and gray, there are blues, rusts, and browns of various shades. It was a quiet day, just Matt and I and lots of Italian food. We dispensed with tradition and made sauce and meatballs, lasagna and bread. Actually, Matt did most of the work, and it was delicious. Being here, at home, made me realize that I have lots to be thankful for, especially my family, and the fact that I didn't have to make dinner!
